I am very pleased to announce that Governor Cuomo has given the green light for schools to reopen this fall. Our staff is excited to welcome our students back to St. Peter’s Lutheran on September 8, 2020. The Governor has asked that we post three specific parts of our plan for all our families to see, without them having to search the entire document: Remote Learning Specifics, Health Screening/Testing Procedures, and Positive COVID-19 Tracing.
Our staff will be meeting on Wednesday, August 12th to discuss our reopening plan and finalize the Remote Learning portion. As soon as we have all of that in place, I will be posting, online, the topics listed above. We will also be contacting each family to set an appointment to meet with their child’s home room teacher prior to the start of school. This will be done during our Orientation Week: August 31-September 3.
Also, the Governor wants the parents to have an opportunity to ask questions to their district. For our individual school, I have handled it through direct contact. I have had ongoing dialogue with many of you and I thank everyone who has reached out to me. I encourage you to contact me via email, phone call, Facebook messenger, or text. I am addressing all questions and concerns as quickly as possible. For the size of our school, I feel that this is the best way for me to directly and personally respond to these questions and concerns. We will also be answering questions during appointments scheduled for Orientation Week.
Please continue to pray for those of us who are working tirelessly to follow the guidelines needed in order to reopen our school so that all students and staff can have a safe and caring environment. Your prayers are felt and appreciated!
