what if I'am not a lutheran?

All children are welcome at St. Peter's. Historically, two thirds of our students belong to other religious denominations or have no religious affiliation.  

can i afford st. peter's?

We invite you to compare our tuition to that of other schools in our area.  We think you will be surprised how affordable quality Christian education can be.  If you still feel you need help, scholarships are available for qualifying families.  

Do you have sports?

Yes!  St. Peter's  offers a range of interscholastic athletic activities so that all children in Grades 4-8 have an opportunity to develop skills in team sports, to develop Christian sportsmanship, to develop positive attitudes about their own abilities, and to see that fellowship and the enjoyment of playing are more important than winning or losing.

Included in the extracurricular program are:
  • Soccer for girls and boys, grades 3-8
  • Basketball for girls and boys, grades 4-8
  • Cheerleading for girls, grade 4-8
  • Volleyball for girls and boys, grades 5-8
In order to participate in a sports program at St. Peter's a State mandated sports physical is required.  An overall grade average of 75 or above must be maintained and a failing or incomplete grade must not be in evidence in any subject.   Satisfactory attitudes and conduct are also required.  Grades will be reviewed at the middle and end of each marking period.  Students will be dropped
or reinstated to the sports program at that time.  All-Star players are to be selected by coaches after consultation with the classroom teacher, Principal and referees.  

is there a music program?

Yes!  There is a wonderful music program at St. Peter's.  Students enjoy learning various instruments, music, and performing. Instrument rental options are available through the Band program.  Students are also given the opportunity to participate and perform with the Honor Band program.  Honor Band is a chance for enthusiastic, motivated, and talented band students to come together with other top performers from the region to practice and perform together.   

Is there a milk program?

Yes!  Free milk is based on family income.  Those who feel they qualify should complete and forward an application to the principal.  All applications are kept confidential.  

is there a child care after school program?

Is there transportation?

Yes!  Busing is provided by the local school districts at no additional cost.

does my child have to wear a uniform?

NO!  St. Peter's does not enforce uniforms. However, we believe students' attitudes are directly affected by the mode of dress.  It would be inconsistent to promote a strong work/study habit and allow distractions from that ideal.  While parents are responsible for the dress habits of their students, St. Peter's does provide  a few guidelines that will make student dress choices consistent with the school's outlook.  


are there FUND RAISERS that we have to participate in?

Yes!  Besides being fun, fund Raisers help keep tuition low.

Each year fund rising projects are undertaken by the whole school.  This project will be designated as to its goals.  It is expected that all students participate.  A complete donation is requested in lieu of participation in School Fund Raisers.  Individual classes and clubs may also have fund raisers for their support.  These should be considered voluntary by the student body.  These groups must first seek and obtain approval from the Board of Parish Education before beginning any fund raiser. 

is there a school nurse?

While there is no nurse in residence at the school, we do avail ourselves of the services of the local public school nursing staff.  These nurses keep our health records and will conduct a screening  for vision, hearing, posture and general health.  All new students must show proof of required immunization.  This will be recorded on a permanent health record.  NO STUDENT will be allowed to remain in class without fulfilling the immunization requirements of New York State. All new students and those in grades K, 2, 4, and 7 are required to have a physical exam..  The school will provide for an exam at the school free of charge if a parent so desires.  A state-mandated physical is required before sports practice begins.
